After the presidential election, a new government is being formed in Russia. According to the law, candidates for deputy prime ministers and ministers are proposed by the head of the Cabinet of Ministers, after which they must be supported by the State Duma. However, the heads of the Defence Ministry, Foreign Ministry, Interior Ministry and Ministry of Justice are nominated by the president – they are appointed after consultations with the Federation Council.

On Monday, 13 May, the State Duma approved the composition of deputy prime ministers. The list of candidates was prepared by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. Thus, Denis Manturov was appointed to the post of the first deputy prime minister. In addition to him, the parliamentarians approved nine more people for the posts of Deputy Prime Ministers: Tatiana Golikova, Dmitry Grigorenko, Alexander Novak, Alexei Overchuk, Dmitry Patrushev, Vitaly Savelyev, Yuri Trutnev, Marat Khusnullin, Dmitry Chernyshenko.

Today, 14 May, at the plenary session the Federation Council is discussing candidates for the posts of federal ministers. Their names are also already known. MIR24.TV has prepared a visual infographic explaining who and what positions will be filled in the new Russian government.
