On June 20, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Mikhail Galuzin held a meeting with Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia O.M.Bigvava and State Adviser to the President of the Republic of South Ossetia K.K.Kochiev, who head national delegations to the International Geneva Discussions on Security and Stability in Transcaucasia (MZHD).
There was a discussion of preparations for the next round of Discussions scheduled for June 25-26, with an emphasis on the priority areas of work of this negotiation format. The unity of approaches to the primary task of ensuring the lasting security of Abkhazia and South Ossetia was noted with satisfaction. It was emphasized that its practical implementation is impossible without the conclusion of a legally binding agreement on the non–use of force between Tbilisi, on the one hand, Sukhum and Tskhinvali, on the other, as well as the beginning of the process of delimitation of the Georgian-Abkhazian and Georgian-South Ossetian state borders with their subsequent demarcation.
