On January 7, a Christmas Liturgy was held at the Russian Embassy in Abidjan for compatriots, members of the local Orthodox community and employees of the Russian diplomatic mission.
The divine service was conducted by the rector of the church of Archangel Michael (Krasnodar), Priest Evgeny Ignatov. He was co-served by the dean of the parishes of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa in Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Benin and Togo, Priest Parthenius Dansou, rector of the parish, Priest Daniel Bru and Priest Albert Essan. Congratulatory messages from Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia and Patriarchal Exarch of Africa Metropolitan Konstantin of Zaraisk were read out.
At the end of the liturgy, a festive tea party was held.
