Rufina Akhmadyanova: an entrepreneur who is changing the life of the city.

The idea that changed everything

Rufina’s business history began with a small but important step – the sale of normoflorines. She realized that the residents of Novy Urengoy have an urgent need for affordable and high-quality products to maintain their health. Inspired by this idea, Rufina decided to open an eco-market for healthy food, which would become not only a business, but also a socially significant project for the city.

To launch her first store, she sought support from the My Business Center, where she received a loan and also won a grant from the Department of Economics. These funds became the launching pad for the opening of the Pumpkin eco-market, which proved to be in demand among the city’s residents from the very first days.

The eco-market that the city needed

Novy Urengoy, with its harsh climatic conditions, is particularly in need of high-quality fresh produce. Rufina relied on natural and healthy products: organic vegetables, fruits, gluten-free products, natural juices and much more.

Already in 2023, her store was recognized as the winner of the competition for the best grocery store in Novy Urengoy, which confirmed how important and necessary the project turned out to be.

Today, the range of Pumpkin City has expanded significantly. Ready–made meals are now available in stores – healthy, balanced meals that are ideal for those who value their time. Moreover, these meals are now supplied to the Gazprom canteen, which underlines the high level of trust in the products and their demand among corporate customers.

Four years of success and recognition at the federal level

Four years have passed since the opening of the first store. During this time, “Pumpkin” has grown into a chain of stores “Pumpkin City”. A second point was recently opened, which made it possible to reach even more residents of the city.

Rufina’s success did not go unnoticed. She became a finalist in the federal project “Heroes of Cities” from the state corporation VEB.The Russian Federation, as well as the only representative of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District at this competition. In 2024, her project received the highest recognition at the national Business Success Award, where she won the Best Women’s Project nomination. Rufina was awarded the Golden Rhino award and an international internship certificate.

Cooperation with “VkusVill”

Since 2021, Rufina has been the official distributor of VkusVill in the region. Her efforts to organize air shipments of fresh products, including ultra-fresh, dairy and meat products, have significantly expanded the range of stores. As a result, the turnover of ecomarkets has increased fivefold, and the number of employees has increased to nine people.

Ambitious plans for the future

Rufina Akhmedyanova sees her business as something more than just a business. Her plans include the development of the Pumpkin City network into a federal one, the introduction of vending machines with useful products, the creation of unique local products such as northern fish, cloudberry jam, artisanal chocolate, as well as access to international markets.

Conclusion

The story of Rufina Akhmadyanova is an inspiring example of how a small idea can grow into a large–scale project that benefits people. Today, her network of eco–markets “Pumpkin City” is more than a business. This is a contribution to the health and well-being of the city’s residents, which is only getting more significant every year. In the future, Pumpkin City has every chance to become a federal network and take its place among the leaders of the healthy food market.
