The conclusion of a new memorandum between the International Media Group and the office of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization took place the day before, Rossiya Segodnya reports. IIA CEO Dmitry Kiselyov and SCO Secretary General Zhang Ming attended the signing ceremony of the new agreement.
During the event, the head of the media group expressed gratitude to the secretariat of the international organization for the trust, and expressed hopes for strengthening ties between the parties to the agreement in the field of mass media.
Zhang Ming supported Dmitry Kiselyov’s words, noting that in the context of new global challenges and threats, it is also necessary to improve the mechanisms of interaction and cooperation in the information sphere.
“This agreement is a reflection of the SCO member states’ attitude that the Organization’s Secretariat will continue to develop and strengthen cooperation in the new international environment,” the SCO Secretary General added.
IIA « Rossiya Segodnya » and the SCO secretariat signed the first of the cooperation agreements in 2015. It should be noted that this department of the international organization performs a number of functions, including information and analytical, legal, organizational and technical coordination of the SCO activities.
