Summer is still almost a month away, and there are already hundreds of tourists on Issyk-Kul. This year, the pearl of Kyrgyzstan is preparing to receive tens of thousands of guests. There are more than 140 boarding houses, five-star hotels, as well as private cottages on the shore. Accommodation in the simplest room this year costs from 1000 soms, which is about the same amount of rubles. There is a housing class above.

“This year we have not raised prices much. The prices for the suites are the same – about eight thousand soms for two, the prices for economy class rooms have risen slightly, by 5-10%. Despite the global inflation, we try to keep prices down so that tourists are comfortable with us,” said Akzholto Nasirdinov, director of the boarding house.

The Rukh Ordo Cultural Center on the shore of Issyk-Kul Lake is especially popular among tourists. It is a complex of five temple structures. They represent the world’s religions.

There are 10 museums located near the lake. Tourists are especially attracted by the “Sayakbai Karalaev Gazebo”, dedicated to the Kyrgyz storyteller of the epic “Manas”. Now the museum is visited by hundreds of tourists a day, most of them from CIS countries, as well as from Europe. Entrance for adults with a guided tour is 500 soms or about 400 rubles. Admission is free for children under the age of seven.

“I am simply amazed by Issyk-Kul Lake and this complex. What are the views here! I was happy to see the personal belongings of the writer Chingiz Aitmatov in his house-museum. I will definitely come back here again,” said German tourist Dietmar Ringel.

Kyrgyzstan has a visa-free regime with more than 60 countries of the world. Therefore, Issyk-Kul is also loved by foreign athletes, they come to train. Active classes are held most often in the gorges near the lake. You can get to the mountain valley by taxi for 3,000 soms or 2,500 thousand rubles. There are also transfers for 250 rubles per person. They depart from the Cholpon-Ata bus station at any time.

“Our heart pumps oxygen better here, drives through the blood. This increases our endurance and strength. We are going down to the lowlands, and we have more internal energy,” said Yulia Sergeeva, a tourist from Moscow.

Not far from Cholpon-Ata, Tamchy International Airport operates around the clock. Planes are already flying there from several cities in Russia, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. A Moscow-Tamchy one-way ticket costs about 10 thousand rubles. From Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan it is more expensive by five thousand rubles. Officially, the tourist season on Issyk-Kul is planned to open in a week.
