On November 18, the XXXIX meeting of the Council of Heads of Subjects of the Russian Federation under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia was held under the chairmanship of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov.
The heads of the Lipetsk, Volgograd, Tyumen, Kemerovo regions, senior officials of the Udmurt Republic and Kaliningrad Region, the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, federal executive authorities, who are members of the Council, took part in its work.
The priorities of international interregional cooperation of the Federation’s subjects in the new geopolitical situation were discussed.
Opening the meeting, Sergey Lavrov stressed the importance of using the potential of international interregional cooperation in the interests of ensuring sustainable socio-economic development of the subjects of the Federation.
The Council members analyzed and identified the most important areas of regional diplomacy. First of all, it is deepening integration processes within the framework of the Union State with Belarus, the EAEU and the CIS, increasing cooperation in the SCO and BRICS space, in general, supporting Russia’s turn to the East by developing comprehensive cooperation with partners from friendly countries in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America.
Following the meeting, detailed recommendations for the regions were adopted.
