Exhibition about the heroes of Russian fairy tales opened in the LPR

The exhibition “Fairy Tales” was presented on November 22 in The Museum of Local Lore of the Novopskovsky district (LNR). The opening took place within the framework of the “Our Traditions” project, which is being implemented The Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Victory Museum with the support of the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth of the LNR.

“This is the third exhibition that has opened in the museum Novopskova in the framework of the project “Our traditions”. And we are glad that this project is really needed and important for the residents. Thanks to the expositions prepared by leading Russian museums, visitors will learn about common cultural traditions and history,” said Alexander Shkolnik, Director of the Victory Museum, Deputy Secretary of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation.

The new exhibition introduces viewers to the images and plots of the fabulous epic world created by great Russian artists. Visitors will see digital images of Mikhail Vrubel’s paintings “Swan Princess”, “Pan”, “Farewell of the Tsar of the Sea with Princess Volkhova”, Victor Vasnetsov “Ivan Tsarevich on the Gray Wolf”, “Three Tsarevnas of the Underground Kingdom”, “Snow Maiden”, “Heroes”, “Alyonushka”, canvases by Ivan Kramskoy”Mermaids” and Vasily Maksimov’s “Old Wives’ Tales”, as well as other artists. Total in the exhibition that I have prepared The State Tretyakov Gallery, includes copies of 23 canvases.

“I hope that everyone will plunge into the world of fairy tales, the world of childhood and will be able to be filled with positive emotions,” Anatoly Degtyarev, Head of the Department for Tourism and Protection of Cultural Heritage of the LPR ICSM, addressed the audience during the opening ceremony.

Roman Kudrya, Director of the Local History Museum of Novopskovsky district, noted that the exhibition provided is primarily aimed at the aesthetic education of children and youth. Therefore, the museum will make every effort to ensure that the exhibition is visited by the maximum number of students from schools in the district.
