This was reported to Reuters by several sources. According to them, US officials are creating a new policy that will prohibit the supply of components that provide 4G, Wi-Fi 6, 7, artificial intelligence, high-performance computing and cloud technologies. The export of goods for 5G technology has already been banned previously. The parties do not comment on the information. The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, Mao Ning, said that this step contradicts the principles of a market economy and the rules of international trade.

The Americans blacklisted Huawei in 2019, banning most American suppliers from providing it with goods without a license. Since that time, officials have continued to tighten controls to deprive Huawei of the ability to buy or develop chips. Nevertheless, from April to November 2021, the company’s suppliers received licenses for $61 billion. The tightening of export controls against Huawei came just days after Japan and the Netherlands agreed with the United States to restrict China’s access to semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
