On December 27, under the joint chairmanship of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov and the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Mikhail Reshetnikov, a meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia and the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia was held on the topic of improving the coordination of foreign economic activity in the conditions of sanctions pressure. The meeting of the Board was also attended by invited representatives of the leadership of the Government of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Russian Export Center.
The challenges associated with the introduction by the collective West of illegitimate unilateral economic restrictions against Russia are analyzed. In the conditions of increasing external pressure, the need to reconfigure the foreign economic relations of our country with an emphasis on deepening cooperation with friendly states, taking into account the geopolitical realities, was emphasized. The special importance of work on the development of financial, transport, logistics and energy infrastructure, as well as political and diplomatic support of foreign projects of domestic economic operators was noted.
During the event, issues of strengthening interdepartmental coordination and interaction with the business community in the implementation of foreign economic tasks were also discussed.
Following the results of the Board meeting, the relevant decisions were made.
