Stone Age finds demonstrated in Dushanbe

On May 23, the A. Donish Institute of History, Archeology and Ethnography of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan hosted an exhibition of Stone Age artifacts found in the camps of Kuldar, Lohuti, Honako, Obi Mazor of Khovaling district and Karatag of Javan district, reports NIAT “Khovar” with reference to the National Academy of Sciences of the country.

The exhibition was attended by scientists from the Institute of Geography of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of the City of Novosibirsk of the Russian Federation, the Danish Technical University, Gurgen State University of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Nanjing University of the People’s Republic of China.

During the exhibition, it was once again emphasized that the paleolithic camps of Zheltozem Kuldar, Lohuti, Obi Mazor and Honako of the Khovaling district are the oldest settlements of primitive people in Central Asia.

According to experts, the results of the excavations strengthen the hypothesis that these camps are located on one of the oldest ways of settlement of primitive people.

The main purpose of the exhibition is to present the finds of the Stone Age, especially the Paleolithic era, to attract foreign scientists to study these monuments and strengthen cooperation in the study of the Stone Age camps of the country.

Recall that from May 1 to May 30, specialists of the A. Donish Institute of History, Archeology and Ethnography, together with scientists from the Institute of Geography of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Danish Technical University, the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of Novosibirsk, Russia and the Nanjing University of the People’s Republic of China, are conducting archaeological work on the study of the Stone Age of Tajikistan, several camps of this period are located in Khovaling the area.
