On November 22, the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia M.L. Bogdanov received representatives of Syrian civil society Mohammad Izzat Al-Baghdadi and Obad Al-Qadderi.
Syrian public figures informed about the tasks of the open patriotic platform created by them, including establishment of wide interaction of Syrian citizens inside and outside the country in order to effectively solve humanitarian problems of Syrian population and promote projects of early recovery all over the country.
The Russian side reaffirmed its continued commitment to a comprehensive settlement in Syria based on the provisions of UNSCR 2254 and respect for the principles of sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic. In this context the importance of initiatives aimed at consolidating the efforts of all Syrians to restore the economic activity of the population in the context of the harsh restrictive measures imposed against Syria by the “collective West” was noted.
