Iran and the EAEU will sign a free trade agreement in January 2023

The Iranian authorities will sign an agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) on January 18, 2023 on free trade, said the official representative of the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade of Iran Omid Ghalibaf. This is reported by the ISNA agency.
Now, according to the official, Tehran is exchanging goods with the union on the basis of a preferential trade agreement. The EAEU has also provided tariff benefits for 500 types of Iranian goods, while Iran has included 400 types of goods in the list of the Union.
Earlier, Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali also said that Iran and the EAEU have completed negotiations on the creation of a free trade zone, having reached an appropriate agreement. The agreement reached should be ratified in the parliaments of the countries that are members of the UNEC, as well as in Iran itself.
